THERE’S LIFE ALL ALONG THE RIVER
Cast off and you’ll soon come across Ascot Racecourse, Maylands Peninsula Golf Course, Perth Stadium, Crown Perth, Elizabeth Quay and the Perth CBD, along with dozens of parks and scenic spots to stop and enjoy along the way.
At the eastern end of the river you’ll discover the Swan Valley, while to the west is the port of Fremantle.
Renowned for its world-class facilities, entertainment, premium restaurants and luxury accommodation, Crown is located on the eastern banks of the Swan River, just minutes from the CBD and both domestic and international airports.
Over the past decade, more than $1.7 billion dollars has been invested into Crown Perth, with the aim to make the Perth location a world-class entertainment precinct.
Crown Towers Perth contributed $645 million to this investment and alone will draw an additional 200,000 hotel guests to Western Australia, with more than 79,000 international visitors and $60 million in additional tourism expenditure per year.
This hotel is the largest in Perth, featuring 500 guest rooms, suites and villas, restaurants, bars, a 1,500 seat ballroom, business centre, luxury retail outlets, resort pool and world-class spa facilities – overlooking the iconic Swan River.
Optus Stadium brings world-class sporting and entertainment events to local, national and international audiences.
The Stadium seats 60,000 and is a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting AFL, rugby union and league, football (soccer), cricket and entertainment events.
With a ‘fans first’ approach to planning and design, Optus Stadium offers an unrivalled spectator experience, including exceptional event atmosphere and cutting edge stadium technology.
Over $1 billion has been invested by the State Government into this project, which includes the Optus Stadium, the surrounding Park, plus the new six-platform railway station, bus station and pedestrian Matagarup Bridge that links East Perth to the Burswood Peninsula.
This spectacular venue will allow 365 day access and visitors will be able to enjoy using a range of facilities including playgrounds, picnic areas and restaurants.
Western Australia is known for its stunning river – the Swan River, which runs through the metropolitan area of Perth, creating a stunning contrast against the skyline of the city high rises
The river stretches from Fremantle through to the Swan Valley, providing plenty of opportunities to experience the serene outdoor lifestyle in Perth.
A dual cycle-walk trail surrounds the Swan River to link the south and north shores of the river, a popular destination for walking, running or cycling.
If you prefer to unwind, there are countless spaces along the river foreshore to enjoy an evening picnic and admire the view.
For those who love being on the water, the river is the perfect location to take out a boat, enjoy paddle boarding, go for a leisurely kayak, jumping on a jet ski or trying your luck at fishing.
